From October to early December a few RHTTs (RailHead Treatment Trains) are based and operated out of Eastleigh Yard using the unusual MPVs which blast the railheads with high-pressure water jets and operate across Hampshire & Dorset removing leaf debris on a daily basis.Main two diagrams through the area covered are 8W85 & 8W84.
Despite moving to Dorset 16 years ago i have never spent much time to the West of Bournemouth. With the only two remaining Freight services left to run in Dorset, the Wool sand train and Hamworthy stone train due within hours of each other i spent the afternoon photographing services in 'Deepest Dorset' including the complex run round of 6O49, the Neasden to Wool empty sand wagons at Dorchester South.
Located in Dorset on the South Coast i am a keen modern railway photographer and have been interested in railways for over 30 years and still have fond memories of watching the class 33s speed through my old home station of Portchester with the Portsmouth Harbour to Cardiff Central services.
Having seen many changes over the years my main focus is on modern day traction with a passion for modern day branchlines and lesser known railway lines & stations along with modern DMUs and EMUs.
So armed with the internet and a digital camera todays rail scene is now even easier to record before it's to late and has been swept away with a blander and even more reduced Rail network.
